Mr. Brave Khangamwa
Executive Director
Brave Khangamwa is a dedicated and visionary educator, administrator, and leader with extensive experience in higher education management and social development initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Humanities) from the University of Malawi – Chancellor College, a Master’s degree in International Comparative Education from Zhejiang Normal University in China, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership at Ohio University in the United States.
With over fifteen years of progressive experience in the education sector, Brave has served in various leadership and academic capacities, including roles as University Registrar at University of Blantyre Synod,Lecturer at Exploits University , and Head of Department for Education Department at DMI st John The Baptist University, a reputable institution of higher learning . Before joining higher Education,he also served as a secondary school teacher in the ministry of Education in Malawi.His career reflects a deep commitment to advancing educational access, institutional effectiveness, and equitable leadership practices.
As Executive Director of CARELA Foundation, Brave provides strategic direction, oversees program implementation, and fosters partnerships aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting community empowerment through education, leadership, and development initiatives. His leadership style is characterized by integrity, innovation, and inclusivity—qualities that have positioned him as a transformative force within both academic and nonprofit sectors.

Evance Masamba
ICT Officer
Evance Masamba is a results-driven professional with expertise in Journalism, Media Studies, and Information and Communication Technology, combining media production, digital communication, and ICT systems expertise to tackle modern communication challenges. His work experience includes serving as a Data Entry Officer for the Malawi Housing and Population Census using ODK in 2018, a Presenter, News Anchor, and News Reporter at Angaliba Radio and TV from 2019-2021, an Intern at the Malawi National Registration Bureau (NRB) in 2024 where he worked with Biometric Registration Kit (BRK) and CRVS, an Identity Verification Officer with the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) during the 2025 voter registration, and a Biometric Voter Verification Officer with MEC during the polling period, making him a valuable asset in today's digital landscape.
Mr John Peter Kaudzu
District Coordinator
John Peter Kaudzu is a committed community leader and businessman dedicated to advancing social and economic development. As the District Coordinator for CARELA Foundation, he oversees and coordinates community initiatives that promote education, empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable populations.
Alongside his role at CARELA, Mr. Kaudzu serves as the Overseer of Fruits of Victory Ministries, where he provides spiritual leadership and mentorship to community members. His work reflects a strong commitment to service, integrity, and holistic community transformation through both faith-based and development-oriented approaches.
With extensive experience in business and community engagement, John brings practical management expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and a results-driven approach that supports CARELA Foundation’s mission of creating lasting positive change.
Elton Nkhoma
Finance Officer
Elton Nkhoma serves as the Finance Officer for CARELA Foundation, where he brings a wealth of expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial management. A man of integrity and professionalism, Elton is committed to upholding transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all financial operations of the organization.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Accounting, Audit and Information Systems from Malawi College of Accountancy and a Diploma in Accounting Technician from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
Before joining CARELA Foundation, Elton worked with Vivo Energy Malawi, where he served in various key financial roles including Assistant Credit, Treasury, and Accounts Payables. His experience in corporate finance and strong analytical skills have positioned him as a dependable steward of CARELA’s financial resources.
Elton’s professionalism, ethical conduct, and sound judgment make him an invaluable member of the CARELA Foundation team, ensuring that all financial processes align with best practices and the organization’s mission of empowering communities through education and sustainable development.
Dr Silvyster Chabuka
Projects Manager
Dr. Sylvester Chabuka is a respected Theologian, Educator, and Administrator with broad experience in education, leadership, and community development. He is the author of ten books and is known for his commitment to promoting integrity, knowledge, and positive social change.
Over the years, Dr. Chabuka has held senior positions in several institutions of higher learning and worked in key roles such as Internal Auditor at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works and Financial Controller at Christian Communication Network. These experiences have strengthened his skills in management, planning, and accountability.
As Projects Manager at CARELA Foundation, Dr. Chabuka uses his leadership and administrative experience to guide the design, coordination, and delivery of community projects. He ensures that every initiative supports CARELA’s mission of improving access to education, resources, and better living conditions for children and families.
He also serves as Chair of the Religious Desk for the Malawi Writers Union (MAWU), where he promotes faith-based dialogue, moral values, and writing excellence—principles that align closely with the vision and values of CARELA Foundation.
